FAQ

cloud platform by NIDAC
Can I manage cloud-based access control from anywhere?
Any Prescient site associated with your installer account will be available via the Gravity platform from anywhere in the world with an internet connection.
How secure is cloud-based access control?
The core benefit of Gravity is that it does not undermine the reliability, security and performance of on-premises embedded access control that the Prescient DN4 embodies. Gravity is your platform to gain access to your Prescient DN4 sites, not replacing them. The data is secured in transit and at rest with the tunnel security provided by industry leader Cloudflare. In addition other Gravity components are secured through enterprise grade encryption. The security is totally distinct from the Prescient DN4's authorization and security framework and thus benefits from layered product security and a zero trust approach.
What happens if the internet goes down?
As dicussed above Gravity is about taking the Prescient DN4 user interface with you anywhere in the world. If the site's network connectivity is interrupted your access to the site is interrupted but that does not impact any functionality. Local respondents can still log in through the user interface on the local area network to monitor and configure the system as normal.
Can I configure, commission and manage all my client sites?
Yes once initial setup is complete the rest of the configuration or commissioning process can take place remotely through Gravity. In addition installers can maintain their client sites remotely through the sites page with intuitive navigation and a clean readable UI that NIDAC is quickly becoming known for.
Will Gravity have an Installer/Technician Dashboard?
Functionally the interface will be identical, the experience will differ once you log into any of your sites wherein your view will be dictated by your operator login credentials and the permissions you have been given within the Prescient DN4 system.
Can I view all my clients' sites on one Dashboard?
Client sites will be listed on the Sites page.
Can I receive email alerts and/or push notifications of all my sites?
Email alerts will be managed by the SMTP settings of your Prescient sites at this stage through the self-service SMTP section in the reporting channels page. A mobile phone app is in development and beyond that we have a planned feature for event reporting through Gravity (that would generate push notifications and more global reporting etc) and we'd be happy to share more details once work has begun.
Can the end user enroll or pre-enroll credentials?
Credentials can be enrolled within the DN4 currently, therefore we suggest installers sign up their end users to Gravity to allow them to enroll credentials remotely for their site.
Can I manage other security systems that are integrated with my access control such as Alarm and CCTV devices?
As the functionality of the Prescient system grows, what you can do through Gravity will also expand. CCTV integration using our Cloud Integration for Digital Watchdog, Hanwha Wisenet WAVE and NX Witness will be able to remotely view events their associated footage and pull live streams for given doors, lift cars, key lockers etc. Alarm functionality (once implemented) will be provided by the Prescient DN4 and therefore will be accessible through Gravity.
Can I view live event logs and diagnostics remotely from a Smart Device?
Absolutely you will have access to the full power of the Prescient UI to access diagnostics, event logs and audit trails.
